Sweet-n-Tart was founded in 1995 by Spencer Chan. Mr. Chan wanted something different, interesting and original to all the ‘adventurous’ diners. After having spent some time in Asia, Mr. Chan formulated the philosophy around ‘a different type of healthy food’ and created Sweet-n-Tart.
Building the café’s concept around desserts, light snacks and a quick bite, Mr. Chan brings to New York a venue specializing in Chinese ‘Tong Shui’ – hot sweet desserts with medicinal qualities. To compliment the rest of the menu, Mr. Chan designed a myriad of dumpling soups, fresh fruit juices and other light and healthy snacks – including the first to introduce ‘Bubble Teas’ or sago drinks.
